Message: You make a spectacular line of products, full of detail and well worth the asking price. Now that I've switched modeling scales, is there any way that I could convince you guys to start producing your ships in N-Scale ??? In addition, a Steel Mill and ore dock are in the plans for my new N-Scale layout, and I would REALLY appreciate it if you would start making your blueprints & plans scaled to N Scale. Food for thought - N Scale is THE fastest growing segment & scale in the Model Railroading Hobby. Walthers took enough notice to create an entire Steel Mill line of Cornerstone kits. Unfortunately they missed quite a few details. (As one quick example - odd numbers of ovens & no blowers on their Blast Furnace.) N Scalers would indeed show their gratitude (read buy your products :~) ) for scaling those plans & ships to 1:160 - and at this point you would have a virtual monopoly on both products. The 1:160 market is waiting for your products - please answer the call. :~)

Message: Wow! These models really bring back old memories. It was 30 yrs.ago when I was only 21 and worked on the lakers.I was on the Judith M. Pearson which was built in 1912.More water ran through her than under her!! One thing though, She always got us home safe. Those days were the best of my life and woudn,t trade them for anything. It,s nice seeing other guys from that time era and people just interested in ships on the web site. By the way, these are great model ship kits, I hope to start mine in March for the layout.Cheers, Brian Duxbury

Message: Hey, I was searching the web for shipbuilding & came across this site. this is great stuff! I'm currently building the "Constructo" version of the "Mayflower". Believe it or not I was this insane on my first model ship-building kit. I love it! It's really looking awesome & will soon be into the insanity of the rigging & sails. I'm looking forward to that! I was searching this sight because I'm sort of looking for my next kit. I know I've started an addiction! Thanks for having this section to write in & good hobbyin' to everyone!

Message: I sailed as a Deck-Hand on the Kerr on its last voyage. It was ironic that we chipped paint all the way down the lakes for it to be turned into scrap metal. This was 54 yrs ago and I was 18 [I think]. It went to a right place "SCRAP"!

Message: back in the 60s I worked on the Poe lock rebuilding project, then for years I lived in the "Stone House" on the Rock Cut in Barbeau, Mich. and have watched thousands of boats Lock through at the Soo and navigate the Rock cut. never have I seen such a spectacle as the Ryerson on her first downbown trip in years Last Saturday. I took some beautiful pictures of her from on top of the Rock pile and am now very interested in building a 48" to 56" model of the " Best looking boat on the lakes"--- If I can find any plans. can anyone help?

Message: Great site! It's interesting to see the various ships that have been modeled using your kits. I was fortunate to have recently found and purchased an old Voco (Bearco predecessor) car ferry kit (Detroit-Windsor type). Plan to build it for display or diorama for now, as I have no layout to put it on yet. There are only a few of the small castings missing. Would there be any chance of ordering replacements, assuming they are the same as used on the GLF-series kits?

Message: I lived in Algonac Mich. My father owned Sids Restaurant on the St. Clair River there. I remember the good times I had on the river as a young boy. He owned the restaurant from 1945-1950. Prior to that it was called Hagels. I just purchased your GLF-24 freighter can't wait to begin construction. It will be for static display so I must construct it to museum quality. Your sight is wonderful. Thank you for bringing back old memories.

Message: I've been interested in lakers for more than 35 years (back when I was in the Army - something to do on my off time) and have acquired the plans to a class of ships made up of the steamers ERVING S. OLDS, BENJAMIN F. FAIRLESS, A. H. FERBERT, ENDERS M. VOOHEES (I believe this spelling is correct), and the LEON FRASER. The OLDS was scraped, the FAIRLESS sunk, and the FRASER (as of 1990) was in Duluth and has been rebuilt. Research continues on the other ships. I've been in contact with several museums in the Great Lakes area and the information is coming in - s l o o o w l y ! Oh well. Onward and upward. I was building the model in 1/4 inch scale to be operated by steam, but didn't have enough money to bring it home with me when I was discharged, so - I kept my pictures and notes and am concentrating on navigation control before I start building again. Keep up the good work, Esther!
